Hi there!
I’m Meredith
Or Hairedith, if you’ve come across my alter-ego on Instagram. I formally entered the industry in 2019, but I’ve been unstoppably involved in hair for almost my whole life. From space buns, to rainbow hair, to perms, and back- I’ve tried it all.
As a mother and bartender in my mid-twenties, inspiration and insomnia would strike late at night, and you would find me in the bathroom rummaging under the sink in a cabinet full of anything Sally’s Beauty Supply would sell me. I learned a lot about myself and very little about hair, being a nocturnal amateur hair dresser. I learned that hair was a safe outlet for my creativity. I learned that I was brave. And I learned that 40 volume developer should not be sold to the general public. And finally, I was inspired by one too many emergency pixie haircuts to finally take a leap of faith and trust that I could find fulfillment in the beauty industry.
I enrolled in cosmetology in 2018, and immediately became aware of the entrepreneurial spirit growing in me, which was a surprise. I thought I just loved playing with hair! I find a great deal of joy in business building, marketing, and networking.
So, let’s take a moment to appreciate the intimacy of a stylist-guest relationship. How many other careers are there that allow you into someone’s personal space like that of a hairstylist? Now over the last few years I’ve had all kinds of people come across my chair, but I’ll tell you that I’ve grown to love so much, the very specific fulfillment of pampering a woman who is finally taking the time to do something for herself, and making her freakin’ day. It’s an honor for me to make her feel incredible about herself. Because she’s a hero and she deserves it.
Family.
Community.
It’s what it’s all about.
Here’s mine. You might see us catching Pokémon on a walk downtown or Bass Lake Trail, eating a hotdog at a Salamander’s game, or acting a fool in the produce section of Harris Teeter. Sawyer is my guy and if you haven’t already, you’ll hear all about him.
We moved to Holly Springs in 2015, not knowing much more than it was the “number one place to raise a family in NC” and that we were putting our son in a good place. I’ve really grown to love Holly Springs as a community. I’m an NC native. I get excited to see familiar faces around town and feel like I’m part of a close knit community, but I love that those people are from all over with storied lives and experiences to share. I’m passionate about supporting local and am thrilled to be a small business owner in this area.
I’m obsessed with my career and the opportunity to connect with this community. Thanks for checking me out!
